At 7:21 a.m. on January 21, residents witnessed a catastrophe unlike anything they had ever witnessed: a fire that started in the city center, where the Victorious Clock Tower is situated. 128 calls for emergency assistance came from people within the Parliament Building, and 467 calls came from citizens and onlookers... The emergency responder sent a total of seven separate fire departments to the city to extinguish the fire, and the Sukkoni Police Department was the first to respond to the calls. The 764-footer was up in flames for about an hour and a half having its 15 floors burnt from that time. The 764-foot skyscraper's fifteen stories were completely destroyed by flames for around an hour and a half. Days after the disaster that left the entire city in mourning, 279 people lost their lives in the fire. The fire was put out at 9:06 in the morning, which relieved the residents, but was not enough to prevent them from suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
